Through 2025 – 2027, the Norwegian museum network for democracy and human rights (Demokratinettverket) will conduct a seminar series that addresses several pressing issues related to the promotion of democracy, civic participation, and human rights.

We believe that museums, memorials, and human rights centers can play an important role at a time when many people foster more pessimistic views about the future of democracy, and where work for human rights faces new challenges.

Demokratinettverket connects museums and other institutions that address democracy and human rights issues through education, exhibibitions and research. 

Since 2017, Demokratinettverket has been affiliated with the Federation of International Human Rights Museums. In September 2022, the network organized the annual international FIHRM conference in Oslo, Norway.

Demokratinettverket is coordinated by Eidsvoll 1814, Norway's museum for constitutional history.
